Easy Gourmet Burgers

What up, peeps? I know I haven't posted in a couple weeks, but school is keeping me from sitting down and blogging. BUT, I do have some things I need to show you guys. Today it's, as you read in the title, "Gourmet" Burgers. These are really easy to make. I came up with them when I threw a meal together one night based off an idea I saw on the Food Network one time; of course I added a few special touches to make them, in my opinion, even better. And I hope that you guys do the same when you take these recipes from me. Whenever I make a new recipe, I copy it exactly the first time I make it, but then make adjustments to my liking from there on out. I'm off topic. Let's make burgers.

Now, for this meal, you need a bowl, pot, and pan.

For the patties, you will need:
a pound of ground beef
3 to 6 cloves of garlic
2 to 3 tablespoons of red wine vinegar


Start by heating up the pan on medium heat. Peel the garlic and give it a good rough chop so that you have pea sized chunks of garlic, maybe even a little bigger. Mix the garlic with the ground beef and the vinegar in the bowl by hand until garlic is consistent throughout the meat and the vinegar is soaked up. Form patties about 3 inches wide and thin or thick as you'd like, but no thicker than an inch. Put roughly a teaspoon and a half of any sort of vegetable oil in the heated pan (the oil will spread itself to a thinner consistency if it's hot enough). (You could also use cooking spray, but I find that oil makes the patties stick less.) Once ready, put the patties into the pan, 4 at a time at most. Give each patty 10 to 15 minutes on each side or till both sides are dark brown.

Vegetable needs (you can add or minus what you feel):
1 small onion
about 2 cups raw spinach leaves
2 tsps butter
tomato, sliced
Cheese of your choosing (mine is fresh graded cheddar)
*guacamole/avocado slices

*I haven't used this because avocados are a little pricey, but I bet it would be delicious.

While your burgers are cooking, heat a small pot and melt the butter in it at medium-low heat. Chop your onions in any fashion that you'd like. Once the butter is melted, add the onions and spinach until all the onions are soft and the spinach has wilted to a beautiful dark green. Turn off heat. Have the tomatoes sliced, cheese ready at slices or graded, and guacamole/avocados prepared if you choose to have this.

And for the buns, all you need are English muffins toasted to your liking.

Once everything is done, your assembly should look something like this:


As you can see, you may want to pick a different order of stacking, but once you do, take this:


and squish it down to a more bite-sized shape. You should get about 6 burgers out of this.

This is one of my favorite meals to eat. I had a friend come over to have these and he ended up eating 4 of them. I made them a second day and the said friend ate 2 more when he wasn't even hungry. Not to toot my own horn but . . . Okay, I totally just want to toot my own horn. This burgers are @$%#ing GREAT. I know they seem like a lot of work, but all of the work is easy to do and the reward is awesome.
